403 Shots From IR Sub

madsek01's picture
Have made a couple of trips up to the Iron Range Sub. recently.  Action has been pretty good so far this summer despite what I sense is Minorca being in the midst of a summer maintenance shut down (still getting a daily limestone train out of Proctor though).  Minntac is still sending plenty of trains down for Two Harbors with only a few here and there heading to Proctor.  Helps the Iron Range Sub. in that CN does NO all-rail business at all off the Iron Range, save for the occasional Tex-Mex train that only travels on CN trackage for a few miles from Fairlane to Keenan.
Anyways, last week on Fourth of July Eve I was able to chase a Minntac train from Biwabik to Two Harbors with the 403 in the lead.  Was a nice day for a chase and here a couple to share.
Here they are roaring with a high green out of South Biwabik after an almost perfect running meet with a northbound (CN 6006 N).
And rolling under the bridge north of Hoyt Lakes.
