Barron Sub

With all the rumors about the Barron sub potentially coming back into service, Scott Carney, Kent Rengo and I decided to head South to see what is happening. We started in Rice Lake. Lots of new 2 bay covered hoppers stored there. On the Soo East of Cameron there are quite a few cars stored by the WN. We met up with a SW1500 headed to Cameron to grab some of those cars just South of Cameron.

We decided to go South to check out the rest of the Wisconsin Northern Operation. At Bloomer we met up with the night job sorting cars just South of town before they headed to Norma.

With new Frac Sand Facilities being built at New Auburn this lines activity should be picking up soon.

At Norma we found an SW1500 based there to switch Pliant and the new EOG facility that just shipped it's first loads last week, Hugh place, just over 300 2 bays on site ready to be loaded.

On the way back North we met up with the job out retrieving cars from Cameron, track up their is not in the best of shape but they are working on it.

We followed them back to Chetek

Climbing a hill just south of Chetek.

We gave up the chase here and headed back to Cameron. Contractor has cleared brush to just East of Cameron, here on the first road East of Rice Creek there is going to be an issue with the flangeways, sure to be a surprise to those who like the new pavement

Here on the other side of Rice Creek is where the brush cutting ends for now, another crossing that needs a little work.

Lots of work for the CN if they re-open this line.
