Boise Sold

From the newswire: Boise Inc. (NYSE: BZ), which owns an International Falls pulp and paper mill, has agreed to be acquired by Packaging Corporation of America (NYSE: PKG) in a deal valued at nearly $2 billion.

PCA said it will acquire all of the outstanding common shares of Boise for $12.55 apiece in cash and in a deal set to close during the fourth quarter. The acquisition includes $714 million of Boise’s debt.

Not sure if this will have any impact on the MD&W but recall when Potlatch sold to Sappi the D&NE became CTRR. Here is a shot with the iconic Boise name on the engine house (I still think of it as Boise Cascade). I believe they still have two Alcos to help the two primary EMD switchers in switching the mill and handling interchange to CN at Ranier.
