CN Helpers On Saturday

Last Saturday was a beautiful day and was able to catch a few things around town including the Pokegama Helpers which are still CN SD60Fs 5527 and 5548.

M-347 called to leave Pokey around 0830 so I headed onto the hill for the shot of Becks Rd. with the cowl helpers dodging the shadows as they shove back.

The helpers were suppose to return right back down after cutting off on the fly and shove the Proctor Transfer (L509) up the hill, but that crew was running out of time and there was other traffic on the hill, so a 1000 crew took over.

The Proctor Transfer finally was finally turned loose around noon, so I returned to Steelton Hill for a couple of shots. Here the 5527 and 48 help the transfer up the hill midday.

Tracked down the cowl pair again, later in the day, when I heard they were going to be used to shove a heavy A404 up the hill on the WC side south to Hawthorne. Not often I'm able to catch helpers over there so that was a worthy target. Was able to shoot the 5548 as the "leader" which is different than on the Peg side as that motor is usually tacked onto the train with its Helper Link. Here they are at North Parkland.

Hope to post a few other shots from the nice Sat. around town sometime soon.
