What is thought to be the power for Tuesday high wide train two CP SD40-2s were working the day transfer from Duluth to Superior on Monday. Though the weather wasn't cooperating SD40-2s working local transfers instead of Soo GP38-2s peek my interest so I managed to capture them under cloudy conditions crossing though Superior on their way back to Stinson yard.

Back in Duluth with the increase of Wyoming coal heading overseas a number of newer type Canadian "straight deck" bulkers have been calling at Midwest Energy. Here the Kaministiqua owned by Lower Lakes Towing of Port Dover Ont. which has been a frequent vistor as of late, sails into port empty heading to Midwest to load coal. I am guessing these boats are work the short haul to a trans-loader on the St Lawrence Seaway to bigger oceangoing vessels.
