A Difference of Decades

DW&P's Bicentennial Friendship Train, sponsored by the Lake Superior Museum of Transportaiton & Industry, now the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, crosses the Rainy River from Ranier, Minn., into Fort Frances, Ontario on August 7, 1976. DW&P Bicentennial RS11 3605 leads DM&IR SD9 129 and BN F9B 775 and F9A 774. This train traveled from Duluth to Fort Frances, and after an overnight stop, returned to Duluth on Aug. 8, 1976. On the return trip the train operated over the DM&IR from Virginia, Minn. to Duluth.
