Crude Train and Heritage One Switchers

Yesterday BNSF ran a tank train out of Rice's Point and out the Brainerd Sub. for Stanley, ND. These tanks have been stored during the winter in Duluth for staging and looks like one train set still remains there. Unfortunately, I was not able to shoot the tank train from the perch on the Bong Bridge as clouds won out at the last second even though it was 80/20 sunny yesterday.

To cheer myself up I went home and dug out a sunny shot of the Grassy Point Draw from last fall. It is somewhat relevant now as the engine was BNSF 7877. It has been renumbered recently to 1986. Think BNSF calls these yard goats a SD39-2 now. Here is the 7877 in fall.

The 6907 continues to work Superior for now not renumbered. Here it is pulling the north end of the car shop around Winter Street last week and then shoving back. There are quite a few old BN signs and even a No Trespassing GN sign (away from the tracks) on this side of the yard in Superior.
